Small Batch Zero Carbon Fuels from Single Stream Wastes

Habitat Energy is advancing a new approach to carbon utilization by focusing on local carbohydrate streams that are currently wasted or underutilized.

We are developing modular systems to convert these materials into fuel-grade ethanol and dispatchable energy, enabling local, low-cost, and low-carbon fuel production.

Our work is focused in the Pacific Northwest, where concentrated food and agricultural systems create unique opportunities for distributed, zero-carbon fuel infrastructure.

Modular, Distributed Fuel Systems

We are designing small-scale, modular conversion systems that operate close to the source of feedstock and integrate with greenhouse operations.

By working with carbohydrate streams such as surplus, off-spec, or byproduct materials, we aim to produce low-carbon ethanol and energy directly where it is needed.

We believe that creative ethanol production has an important role to play in future sustainable energy systems.

Our approach reduces transportation, improves efficiency, and creates a pathway toward localized, resilient fuel production.

Exploring New Carbon Pathways

We are actively working with partners across the Pacific Northwest to identify and develop new sources of low-cost, high-quality carbohydrate feedstocks. If you operate within:

  • food production or processing
  • agriculture or grain handling
  • beverage or fermentation systems

we are interested in understanding how your byproducts could support the next generation of distributed fuel and energy systems.
