Fertilizer independence begins with energy independence. Habitat Energy is currently building micro-scale, greenhouse-based digester systems integrated with onsite solar power to fully leverage installed equipment and push capacity factors to 100% even when the sun isn't shining. The driver is distributed fertilizer production, where fertilizer can be made nearby and accessed by farmers on demand, as needed, year-round.
