Projects

There are vertical greenhouses, but what about vertically integrated greenhouse businesses? And what if controlled environment agriculture focused primarily on nutrient circularity? Natural products and natural resources exist within balanced ecosystems. Energy habitats are modeled on these principles, working to overlap natural products and processes to find the same balance, but within markets and supply chains.

Habitat Energy is focused on reducing nitrogen loss by building greenhouse-integrated micro-digesters to convert manure into irrigation-ready liquid nutrients and to produce clean energy and bagged soil products. These integrated, multi-product facilities are Energy Habitats, built with the goal of overlapping healthy ecosystems and improved economics to strengthen farming communities.

Phase 1

Tainable Lab Demonstration Site

McMinnville, Oregon

In July 2025, Habitat Energy broke ground on its first demonstration facility in McMinnville, Oregon. The site was deliberately chosen as a greenfield location, ensuring the project yields the technical, logistical, and permitting lessons needed for rapid replication at similar rural sites across the region.

Facility Snapshot:
  • Structure: 100 ft long × 30 ft wide × 28 ft tall

  • Reactor Systems: Two independent 18,000-gallon systems (14 ft height)

  • Biofilter: 15,000 gallons of integrated capacity

  • Project Scale: 1/6 the size of a full commercial facility

  • Lease Term: 10-year site lease through Tainable Labs

  • This first facility will produce on-spec liquid fertilizers (with a goal of OMRI listing), bagged soil amendments, and renewable energy products.

Its modular, greenhouse-based approach enables fast deployment, agricultural-scale permitting, and construction timelines far shorter than traditional biogas infrastructure.

Project Milestones

Phase 1 construction at our McMinnville, Oregon demonstration site—tracking the buildout of Habitat Energy’s first modular, greenhouse-based facility designed to generate on-farm fertilizers and renewable energy while proving a model built to scale.
